I very much appreciate that you have stood up for this fund, and hope that the research that has been put together will help support your effort to get the funding restored -- at least partially.

Being in the public eye, and being a part of a Council, sometimes puts "you" in the cross hairs. After 20 years of this business, I have my fair share of buckshot sent my way from decisions that I had nothing to do with. For example, I got to implement the county's new critical areas ordinance and farm plan requirements. Guess what I was called for that?

You learn to get a thick skin, but sending you kudos for just being there are deserved, but particularly for standing up to the values that we both share in conserving our open spaces, agricultural land, and preventing sprawl.

Thanks Ken.David Stalheimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10588880557546749656noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2257022282747854387.post-42646794988043754502010-11-22T09:29:51.065-08:002010-11-22T09:29:51.065-08:00Thank you Ken for fighting for our future. I jus...Thanks for your support for the CFF, Ken.

I just read through the post very carefully and didn't find one word blasting the County Council. The most critical statement I could find is "While the County budget revenue issues are serious, the lack of appreciation for the public input on Conservation Futures funding and the economic sense of keeping those funds is disturbing." This doesn't seem like unjust criticism of the proposal.

This must be a tough week, with everybody from every side "blasting" the Council. On the other hand, here you have a rational, evidence-based discussion to back up your support for the CFF. Good luck!Jean Meliousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2257022282747854387.post-37211969297534346022010-11-21T18:22:57.517-08:002010-11-21T18:22:57.517-08:00David, when you are blasting the Council, it would...David, when you are blasting the Council, it would make me feel warm and fuzzy if you point out those council members who AGREE with you.

I will be advocating to retain the CF levy, as I did at our last meeting, where I was voted down.Ken Mannhttp://www.votekenman.comnoreply@blogger.com
